Cafey

Casey has been "checking heifer's" at the ranch lately as they are all having baby calves. He makes sure they are not in distress or have a dead calf, etc. Occasionally, a momma cow will abandon her calf neglecting to feed or care for it. Casey found this calf last week tagging along with others, but very weak from not being fed and brought him up to the barn. Now it stays in a stall and Casey has to feed it a bottle twice a day. The little thing is practically tame now and will let you pet it and touch it during feeding time. Avery loves to go help daddy feed the baby cow she has so lovingly named "Cafey." Last night, Avery's friends came over and we took them to the barn to feed Cafey with us. All the girls loved petting the calf and watching Casey feed it the bottle. That calf can suck the bottle down faster than anything I've ever seen! When he's finished, he nudges his head around on everyone's legs looking for more milk. Cafey will have to be fed twice a day for 3 or 4 months when he can survive on water, grass, and feed alone. Sorry the pics aren't very clear - my flash wasn't strong enough in the dark stall.

Bubble Bath

My little munchkin just loves her bath times and bubbles are her favorite thing ever! It has been cold and snowing today so we have been stuck inside. She played for a long time in the bubble bath this evening and just looked so cute I had to share some pics.
Cheese!!!
"Swimming" in the tub
Hiding under the bubbles :)
And last, but not least... no bubble bath is complete without the bubble beard.

30 weeks

Wow - this pregnancy seemed to have been flying by until about now and it is beginning to drag a little. We are just so anxious to meet the sweet baby boy growing inside my stomach that time has crept along lately. He is definitely growing and getting stronger! As you can tell from my expanding waistline. This pregnancy has been exactly like mine was with Avery, but for some reason I just feel huge. AND I still have 2 1/2 months to go! Overall I have been so blessed to have a smooth pregnancy and I am still feeling great. I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks on Friday. I have been horrible at taking pregnancy pictures this time, but will try to get a couple more before the due date. Avery really wanted in the picture with me so she is all smiles in the second picture. We can't wait for her to be a big sister!

Painting

Today it has been snowing and is cold outside so after running a few errands, Aves and I decided to find something fun to do at home. Nona got Avery some washable paint for Christmas and I am ashamed to say that we hadn't even opened it! The best part was the Dora paintbrush! So we sat down for a while today and painted. It was actually way less messy than I had anticipated and I was so proud of her for not just slopping paint everywhere - not sure why that was my initial concern?? She is getting so big and it is fun to see her doing and learning new things.

Avery's Big Girl Room

So this is an extremely late post since we moved Avery out of her crib and into a twin bed last summer... I have been meaning to post pics of her new room, but kept waiting for "one more thing" to officially finish the room. I guess it is complete now we love her big girl room!
From the doorway
I love her new furniture
Love this shelf because it holds a TON of "treasures"
Avery is obsessed with purple and loves her curtains
The mirror was on extra clearance at Kirklands because it had a small chip in the wood - nothing a little purple spray paint wouldn't fix
